Each Tent has a private deck that has a jacuzzi facing the Masai Mara reserve that you immerse yourself in hot/cold water, grab your binocular to enjoy the spectacular views of wild animals roaming at the Mara plains.

Our Rooms

Alama Camp Mara has ten stylish permanent tented rooms comprising of: Single, Double, Twin, and Family tents all overlooking the expansive plains of the masai mara game reserve. The beautifully furnished interiors are spacious and comfortable, with a roll up quality canvas opening onto an expansive viewing deck. The walls are made from sedimentary rocks collected locally, they help to regulate the temperatures of the tents. The interior has a tasteful décor with an African touch.

Each bathroom enjoys a view over the plains and has a standalone Jacuzzi on the private deck, allowing enjoy a bubble bath as you relax, reconnect and replenish within the African savannah.

Daily flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport to Masai mara (Keekorok airstrip) the flights take approximately 45minutes.
Daily flights from Mombasa; the flights take approximately two hours.
Road transport from Nairobi that takes approximately 5.5 hours.

Game Drives

You can choose to have two game drives each day: one first thing in the morning and another in the late afternoon, or a full day game drive with picnic lunch boxes. Our expert guides will help track big cats among other animals and birds across the plains,
Our safari jeeps are designed to guarantee a true 4×4 safari experience without compromising our guest’s comfort.

Balloon safari

The early start in a Hot air balloon will help you take in masai Mara from a bird’s-eye view as you soar over the plains as the sun peeks over the horizon. This is also breathtaking way to see the full scope of the wildebeest herds as it offers an incredible vantage point from above, follow the river and glide over a confusion of wildebeest, journey of giraffes or dazzle of zebras. Hot air Balloon ride are at an extra cost and are subject to weather conditions.

Our restaurant is set overlooking the Masai mara plains. Our meals are Ala carte, Wholesome, organic menus incorporate and celebrate the seasonal bounty of the camp’s thriving farm. Our chef will pamper you with mouth-watering cuisines for all tastes. Special meal requirements are met on request i.e. Gluten free, vegetarian, non-vegetarian, vegan or special meals for the sick.

Wildebeest Migration

From July through to October, witness the spectacular Wildebeest migration as well as the dramatic Mara River crossings. This is the best time to visit the Mara and is highly recommended.
